Utah Pride Festival 2010

APPLYING ONLINE = A GREENER FESTIVAL.

The Utah Pride Center is accepting applications for musicians and performing artists interested in appearing at the 2010 Utah Pride Festival, June 4th, 5th and 6th. Performers of all genres and cultures are encouraged to complete this application in order to be considered to be featured in our equal rights celebration, which will include bands, solo musicians, comedians, dance troupes and more. The festival will showcase artists in multiple performance venues across the festival grounds. The festival offers a great opportunity to artists promoting their talents and performances to the general public in the Salt Lake area. If you feel that your talents lend themselves to this type of venue and would like to perform at our festival, please complete and submit the application below.

There will be four main areas at the 2010 Utah Pride Festival in which to showcase talent:

• Main/North stage: This stage will include a variety of acts and entertainment including the festival headliner on Saturday night. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE: All performances on the main stage will be part of a scheduled, choreographed full-length program. Saturday's entertainers will be led by a host until the headlining act takes the stage. Sunday's performers will be led by two co-masters of ceremonies. This programming change is intended to bring a high level of quality entertainment and energy to the main stage for the entirety of the weekend's festivities. This will require a variety HIGH ENERGY, UPBEAT acts including comedians, drag performances, singers/singing groups, bands, dancers, etc.
• Acoustic Music/East Stage: This stage will showcase acoustic musicians and music groups.
• Interactive/West Stage: This stage will be the home of the drag and karaoke competitions as well as other kinds of performers including comedians, bands, DJs, etc.
• Club/South stage: This stage is dedicated to area nightclubs who have been offered the opportunity to sponsor the designated club area during a specific timeslot. We anticipate that most clubs will be bringing their own entertainment and DJs as means of promotion for the activities in their establishments during Pride weekend. HOWEVER, we are accepting applications for DJs as a means of back-up or for the interactive stage. Please note in your description if you are willing to be contacted as an on-call entertainer for this area.

2010 UTAH PRIDE FESTIVAL RULES AND POLICIES

1. The amount of time and line-up positioning will be determined by the Utah Pride Center based on the type of activity that is anticipated.

2. Performers must abide by the laws of the City and County of Salt Lake and the State of Utah. The Utah Pride Center and the Utah Pride Festival reserve the right to stop ANY performance in process that is judged not to be in compliance with these laws.

3. Performers under the age of 18 will need to have a parental/guardian release form on file, which will be provided later in the application process.

4. Applications will be accepted starting Feb. 1. All applications must be submitted online and will receive a submission confirmation via email within 7 days. Final selections will be made by April 1st, and all entrants will receive an email confirming or denying acceptance to the 2010 Utah Pride Festival.
