Utah Pride Festival 2008

Meshell Ndegeocello will be headlining at Utah Pride 2008 on Saturday, June 7.

With the release of The World Has Made Me The Man Of My Dreams, Meshell Ndegeocello releases her7th musical wonder to the world. Channeled through orchestral soundscapes andan unapologetic punk aesthetic, Meshell questions the inevitable, inconceivablebrutality of the world with an arsenal of familiar themes: faith, rage, despair, fleeting joy and nagging doubt.

This incredible singer/songwriter/bassist focuses on challenging material by exploring the politics of race and sex, among other topics. Born Mary Johnson in 1969, she changed her name to Ndegeocello (meaning free like a bird).

In the early '90s she became one of the first female artists signed to Madonna’s Maverick label. Meshell has picked up 10 Grammy nominations, and is coming to headline our own festival right after her tour in Japan for fantastic new album.
