| National March on Washington Announced at Utah Pride |
|
In a speech lasting just under 10 minutes, Jones noted a new chapter in LGBT history from the time that the Stonewall riots launched the modern movement for rights 40 years ago. "We will accept no further compromises or delays. There is no fraction of equality and we are tired of waiting." Jones stated, "We have a message for the people, the President, the Congress, and the Supreme Court. We are equal. We are equal. We are equal!" The march will coincide with National Coming Out Day and launch a campaign to secure rights for all people on the federal level.
