Cultural Competency Training

The Utah Pride Center offers LGBTQIA+ cultural competency training to organizations and community groups, including educators, caseworkers, health care professionals, mental health professionals, youth-serving professionals, and anyone looking to increase their understanding of the community. This training is a 101-level training and focuses on understanding basic LGBTQIA+ terminology and concepts, painting a picture of the LGBTQIA+ community, and providing tips on how to make your spaces more LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Competence occurs when practitioners and agencies integrate and transform knowledge into specific standards, policies, practices, and attitudes in their workplaces and while providing services.
