The Utah Pride Festival welcomes all ADA Approved Service Animals

Only service dogs will be allowed on Festival Grounds. You may be asked if the animal is a service animal and/or what the animal has been trained to perform according to ADA compliance requirements. According to the Utah State law regarding service animals:
“Service animal” includes any dog that is trained, or is in training, to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability; performs work or tasks, or is in training to perform work or tasks, that are directly related to the individual’s disability.

Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) will not be admitted to the festival grounds. At this time, the ADA does not recognize emotional support animals: animals that provide a sense of safety, companionship, and comfort to those with psychiatric or emotional conditions. Although these animals often have therapeutic benefits, they are not individually trained to perform specific tasks for their handlers. Utah law specifically excludes animals who are used solely to provide emotional support, companionship, comfort, well-being, or crime deterrence. Neither the ADA nor Utah’s disability law cover these support animals.

We ask that all participants with a service dog who will be on festival grounds check in with the team at the gate, they may issue a wristband to facilitate entry and exit during the run of the festival.

Pets and the Utah Pride Parade

Only service animals will be allowed on the Parade route. We ask that all participants with a service dog who will be walking in the parade check in with parade organizers to receive a rainbow ribbon. We recommend that your dog wear booties or shoes to protect their paws from the heat generated by the concrete and asphalt.
