2021 PRIDE STORY GARDEN
“Our History, Our Stories, Our Communities”
Purpose: Pride in 2021 will not include a festival, parade, food booths, beverage sales, live entertainment, vendors, etc. due to the restrictions of Covid-19. However, we will be hosting a new outdoor exhibit on Washington Square with a limited number of guest allowed to attend at a given time period over a five (5) day period.
The goal of the exhibit it to celebrate Pride is a Covid safe manner and to tell “Our History, Our Stories, Our Communities”. Our community partners are part of our history, our stories and our communities in Utah and this is an opportunity for these groups to participate and share your history and your stories with thousands of Utahns in 2021.
Exhibit Dates: Thursday, June 3 – Monday, June 7, 2021
Personnel: Personnel are not allowed on the premises during the exhibit hours.
Capacity: Space is limited to sixteen (16) local organizations.
Space #1: A Pride Garden for larger Community Stakeholders with a designated area per Stakeholder and a capacity for a maximum of six (6) elements.
Space #2 A Pride Garden for smaller Grassroots Partners with a designated area per Grassroots organization and a capacity for a maximum of four (4) elements.
Elements: Elements are display items meant to tell your organization’s History, Stories or Connection to Utah’s LGBTQ+ Community. For social distancing and limiting the number of people within the garden at any given time, visual elements are meant to be viewed from 6+ feet away and be viewed within a 15 second space of time.
Power: A power source within the Pride Gardens is not available. Generators are not allowed.
Fundraising: Onsite fundraising is not allowed. Donation drop boxes may be permitted.
Grassroots organizations will share a portion of the Story Garden proceeds.

Connection: The Utah Pride Festival is meant to celebrate those contributions of Utah’s LGBTQ+ community. These limited number of opportunities will be reserved for those organizations that are directly working to support and advance “a thriving LGBTQ+ community in Utah.”
Deadline: May 10th, 2021
Process: All submissions will be reviewed by the Pride Planning Committing and jury selection completed. Notification and confirmation due no later than May 15th.
