PRIDE INTERFAITH SERVICE
DATE: Wednesday, June 2nd
Guest Speaker: Angie Rice
I was born in England in 1962, to a U.S. Air Force family. Moved to Vermont starting in the 1st grade, when my father retired.
I knew something was different and confusing inside me by the age of 8 years old, and kept that secret buried deep inside me until I was 49 years old. As a youth I excelled in sports and academics, and went on to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1984.
I went on to be a Command Evaluator Pilot, and flew rescue helicopters for five years during peacetime, and Special Operations and Combat Support in four separate models of the KC-135 refueling aircraft, spanning fifteen years, which included flight time in support of Desert Storm, Somalia operations, and the Bosnia Herzegovina civil conflict.
I retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2004, and settled in Utah with my family. I’ve been working in public elementary education as a Severe Life Skills Special Education teacher here in Utah since 2006.
I began hormone replacement therapy under Doctor supervision in 2011, and came out to my extended family, my school district, and the public in 2015.
From the moment I “came out to the world” in 2015, I have been completely living my truth, with a transformation from living waiting to die, to living each day with great hope.
This event is free and open to the public. This is a Virtual Event.
