Survivors of Suicide Attempt (SOSA)

An eight-week support group will be held at least twice a year for LGBTQ survivors of suicide attempts. This group will provide support for up to 10 survivors of each cohort. Because previous attempts are the number one predictor of a suicide completion, this group will act as a suicide prevention strategy for the LGBTQ community by providing participants with support, information and coping skills. This group will be the first of it’s kind in the state of Utah, and the first attempt survivor group in the nation targeted to LGBTQ survivors.

The eight sessions for this group are titled:

Group overview and introductions

Talking about suicide
Giving and receiving support
What triggers suicidal thoughts?
How can I cope with thoughts of suicide
Resources
Hope
Where do we go from here?

An intake is required for this group. Please contact : sarahmaccombie@utahpridecenter.org
