Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 3, 2021 – CenterLink and The Johnson Family Foundation have announced that the following LGBTQ Community Centers have each been awarded funding dedicated to increasing the variety and quality of mental health services they provide:

The Attic – Philadelphia, PA

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center – Allentown, PA

Out Youth – Austin, TX

Pride Center of Staten Island – Staten Island, NY

The Center Coachella Valley – Palm Springs, CA

Triangle Community Center – Norwalk, CT

“CenterLink is excited to continue our work with the Johnson Family Foundation, and so appreciative of their continued support.  At a time when people are facing tremendous physical and mental health challenges, the mental health services that LGBTQ centers provide are essential. This program is so important in supporting and developing center mental health programs and has made a tremendous impact for LGBTQ centers and communities across the US and Canada. We look forward to working with each center as they grow their mental health programs to better meet the needs of their communities,” said CEO Denise Spivak.

$150,000 in grants were awarded to support capacity building mental health programs at these seven LGBTQ centers. The program has awarded over $1.8 million to LGBTQ centers since its inception in 2010.

CenterLink strengthens, supports, and connects LGBTQ community centers.  The organization was founded in 1994 as a member-based coalition to develop strong, sustainable LGBT community centers and build a thriving center network. CenterLink plays an important role in addressing the challenges centers face by helping them to improve their organizational and service delivery capacity, access public resources and engage their regional communities in the grassroots social justice movement.
