Chat with SLC's favorite LGBTQ+ affirming pastor, Pastor Curtis on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Utah Pride Center (1380 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84115).

"I’ve come out. The church I grew up in rejects me on the basis of my gender or sexual identity. So what do I do with my faith?" This question often gets lost in the struggle to come to terms with one’s sexual and gender identity. For many it is given to them as a choice between two options, either I am a person of faith or I am true to who I know myself to be. But it seems more complex than that. Sometimes people are angry at God. Sometimes people want nothing to do with a church but still have a faith in God that is important to them. Sometimes, people don’t know what to do with the sincere faith of their childhood that now seems to not have any room for them.

I am here to talk with you about that. To listen mostly, but to affirm who you are; to tell you that God loves you just the way you are; to apologize for the hurt that has been perpetrated in the name of God; to repent; to pray; and to be someone who encourages you to not let them take the faith that is rightfully yours and to help you hold on to the good stuff and let go of that which is harmful. So lets talk. I am here on the first and third Tuesdays from around 6 pm to about 8 pm or call/text me and we can set up an appointment to talk.
